The Safety of Metoprolol Combined with Valsartan in the Treatment of Elderly Dilated Cardiomyopathy and the Impact on Patients' Left Ventricular Remodeling

Objective To explore the safety of metoprolol combined with valsartan in the treatment of elderly dilated cardiomyopathy and the impact on patients'left ventricular remodeling.Methods 65 elderly patients with dilated cardiomyopathy were randomly divided into two groups.32 cases of control group were treated with metoprolol,and 33 cases of study group were treated with metoprolol combined with valsartan.The left ventricular indicators,BNP level and adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Results After treatment,the levels of LVEDVI,LVEDD,LVESD and BNP of study group were significantly lower than those of control group,and LVEF level was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).No significant difference was found in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions Metoprolol combined with valsartan can effectively improve the left ventricular remodeling of elderly patients with dilated cardiomyopathy,and has high safety without significant increase of adverse reactions.
