| Abstract: | 118 stomach specimens with esophagus and a portion of diaphragm were takenout from 102 adult and 16 children cadavers.The vagus nerves were separated fromthem carefully under amplifier and surgical microscope.The results were as follows:1.It was found that there were four types of esophageal vagal plexus on thelower thorocic esophagus.2.Within 3cm above the diaphragm,most of the esopha- geal branches arise from the anterior vagal trunk and side-trunks.3.In the esopha-geal hiatus,the number of anterior and posterior vagal trunks is variable.The clinical significance of Harkins branch in supraselective-vagotomies isdiscussed. |
