Objective: To investigate the effect of nurse participation on analgesic efficacy in patients with cancer pain. Methods: From January 2011 to December 2013, 382 outpatients with cancer pain were included in this research at their first visit, their pain was treated by both physicians and nurses at the same time, after 2 weeks of treatment, pain control rate was compared with previous 223 cases treated only by physicians. Results: After 2 weeks, cancer pain was effectively controlled in 301 of 382 patients with pain control rate of 78.8%, which was significantly higher than 69.5% in previous 223 cases(P<0.05). Conclusion: Participation of nurses can effectively increase pain control rate of patients with cancer pain and improve their quality of life.
