Abstract:Objective To determine the roles of E - and P - selectins in the pathogenesis of cerebral infarction. Methods: The serum concentrations of sE -and sP -selectns were measured with ELISA in 30 cerebral infarction. 25cerebral haemorrhage and 28 healthy control subjects. Result: The serum levels of sE-and sP-selectins in acute stage of cerebral infarction group were significantly higher than those in cerebral haemorrhage and those in healthy control group. In sE-selectin, as well as the level of sP-selectin, was observed in positive correlation with the WBC, N%, or the level of IL -6 respectively. The level of sP-selectin was also positively correlated with the level of TNF. Conclusions: The increased levels of sE-and sP- selectins reflected these two selectins might be enhanced the endotheliocyte - leukocyte adhesion, under the stimulations of TNF and IL - 6, so as to be involved in the cerebral injury after acute cerebral infarction.
Keywords:Cerebral infarction Selectins TNF IL-6
