Abstract: | Summary A procedure is described for the establishment and propagation of epithelial cell rich cultures derived from normal human kidney cortex (NHK-C cells). Cells are harvested from tissue fragments of donor human kidney by progressive enzymatic dissociation. NHK-C cultures are morphologically heterogeneous but exhibit, predominantly, the functional characteristics of cells of the kidney proximal tubule. Supported by grants from the American Heart Association (Indiana Affiliate) and the Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation. |
