Abstract: | The thermal conduction method of measuring skin blood flow has been shown to be accurate, sensitive, virtually atraumatic and only affected by the cutaneous blood flow. The general fluctuations in skin blood flow are monitored by one probe on an untreated site. The reading from a second probe on the test site is expressed as a ratio of the first probe reading. This combination is shown to accurately reflect changes in blood flow of the treated site. A calibration procedure is described. |
