Visual Analysis of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Treatment of BP Based on CiteSpace

Objective:To study the research status and development trends of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of bulbar paralysis(BP)based on CiteSpace visual analysis.Methods:Literature related to acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for BP were reviewed from the databases of CNKI,Wanfang and Vip,and imported into CiteSpace software for visual analysis.Researchers,research hotspots and development trends could be roughly known through the network diagram,keyword clustering results and keyword co-occurrence analysis of authors cooperation.Results:By January 2021,the retrieval results showed that 480 articles related to acupuncture treatment for BP were involved,and 394 articles were included after screening.The main research focus on the acupuncture treatment for BP included‘pseudo bulbar paralysis’(165 times),‘swallowing disorder’(72 times),‘acupuncture therapy’(59 times),‘stroke’(42 times),‘bulbar paralysis’(29 times),‘pseudobulbar paralysis’(22 times),‘acupuncture treatment’(22 times),‘acupuncture and moxibustion therapy(19 times),’true bulbar paralysis‘(19 times)and‘dysphagia’(15 times).Since the establishment of the databases,the top 5 prominent keywords were acupuncture treatment(1973-2003),pseudobulbar paralysis(1986-1998),acupuncture and moxibustion treatment(1992-2007),bulbar paralysis(1999-2006)and acupuncture and moxibustion therapy(2002-2006).Conclusion:Acupuncture and moxibustion has a significant efficacy in the treatment of BP and is easy to operate.However,most of the studies have small sample size and lack of multi-center and multi-regional cooperation.The traditional acupuncture and moxibustion reinforcing and reducing method is ignored,and the unified TCM syndrome classification is not developed,which cannot guarantee the treatment based on syndrome differentiation.In the future,we should pay attention to the basic research of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of this disease and the research on the mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion,carry out high-quality evidence-based medical research,and optimize the treatment plan of acupuncture and moxibustion for BP.
