Abstract: | Tuberculosis (TB) continues to be a major opportunistic infection after renal transplantation especially in the tropical countries. The risk of TB in renal transplant recipients is reported to be 20-74 times higher than that in the general population. Genitourinary TB that occurs after renal transplantation in uncommon and appears to present differently than genitourinary TB in the non-transplant population. An increased risk of graft rejection and graft loss has been reported.
