| Abstract: | This article reported the results of determination of serum creatine phosphckinase (CPK) in 47 patients with acute ileus, 20 of which had complications of gut-tie, gangrene of intestine and bad bean operated. The values of serum CPK before the operation were higher significantly that normal value but after removing the nidi, the levels of CPK decreased gradually to normal. The CPK levels in the other 27 patients with acute intestinal obstruction who were free of evidence of gut-tie and gangrene of intestine were within normal range. The results suggested that the assay of serum CPK may be used as an the indication for operation and biochemical norm of recovery in patients with acute ilues after the operation. |
