The Observation of Curative Effect of Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy on Patients with Advanced Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of concurrent chemoradiotherapy on the treatment of advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods A total of 52 patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma was divided into the chemoradiotherapy group and the radiotherapy alone group.The chemoradiotherapy group was treated with PF regimen chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy.The radiotherapy alone group was treated with radiotherapy.Results The complete remission rates of nasopharyngeal primary lesions at 3 months after the treatment were 84.6% and 61.5% in the chemoradiotherapy group and the radiotherapy group(P<0.05),and the complete remission rates of neck lymph node were 80.0% and 56.0%(P<0.05),the 1-year survival rates were 92.3% and 84.6%(P>0.05),the 3-year survival rates were 76.9% and 46.2%(P<0.05),the rates of distant metastasis were 15.4% and 42.3%(P<0.05).The early common toxicities were leukopenia and mucosities,and could be tolerated.Conclusion The concurrent chemoradiotherapy can improve the 3-year survival rate and decrease the distant metastasis rate in patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma,and the toxicities can be tolerated.
