Abstract:Pediatric HIV infection is increasing at a rapid rate. It has many features that distinguish it from the adult forms of the disease. An understanding of the epidemiology and pathophysiology of HIV infection in children is necessary for the clinician to accurately diagnose and effectively treat infected children. Particular emphasis is placed on the infectious and neoplastic conditions of the head and neck region in infected children.
