| Abstract: | Objective This study retrospectively analyzed total knee revision arthroplasty with the Total Condylar m system in inflammatory arthritis, hoping to understand the effect and prognosis. Methods 16 total knee revision arthroplasties using the TotalCondylar III system in 14 patients with inflammatory arthritis were performed in Tampere University Hospital between 1994 and 2000. There were 11 women and three men with a mean age of 59 years （36 to 78）. The patients were followed up for 74 months （44 to 122）, using re-revlsion as the endpoint. All the results were analysed by SPSS 12. 0. Results The average pre-operative Knee Society score of 37 points （0 to 77） improved to 88 （61 to 100） at follow-up （t = -3. 983, P 〈0. 001 ）, which indicated vel7 good overall results. The range of movement improved from 62° （0° to 120°） to 98° （0° to 145°） （t = -2.655, P〈0.05）. The Knee Society pain score improved from 22 （ 10 to 45） to 44 （20 to 50） （H =5. 696, P 〈0. 05）. There was no definite loosening of the component, although five cases showed asymptomatic radiolucent lines. Complications were seen in three cases, comprising patellar pain, patellar fracture and infection. Conclusions The Total Condylar III system can be used successfully in total knee revision arthroplasty in inflammatory arthritis. |
