Objective To improve the level of aged patients' rational use of drug.Methods Taking multiple steps to supervise aged patients' use of drug.The measures included establishing and perfecting the organization,rules and regulations;taking various methods to give nursing staff chance in education and training;in order to improve the rationality of medication operation,strengthening the management in correct dealing with medical order,choosing the best medication,the best dosage form and the best time,normalizing the medication operation,avoiding the incompatibility of medicine,reinforcing health education in rational use of drug,increasing the chance of communication among doctors,nurses and pharmacists,and cooperating to monitor the drug adverse reaction and so on.Results Security and compliance of medication of aged patients has enhanced.The rate of drug treatment mistakes decreased.Nursing staff's level of knowledge regarding medication rationality has improved.Conclusion Multiple-step management strategy could increase the level of aged patients' rational use of drug.
