Abstract: | Objective To investigate the status of disease acceptance and the quality of life in patients with the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and to explore the relationship between them. Methods A total of 345 patients with IBD attending the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center in Yunnan Province were selected as the study population by convenience sampling method. Data were collected using the General Information Questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS), and the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Quality of Life Scale (IBDQ). Results The total scores of the disease acceptance and the quality of life of IBD patients were (21.95±5.58) and (166.41±30.75), respectively, which were positively correlated (r = 0.606, P<0.01). Conclusion The higher the acceptance of IBD patients, the higher the quality of life. Therefore, nursing workers should guide IBD patients to correctly understand the disease, encourage them to accept the disease, so as to improve their quality of life. |
