Abstract:Animal experiment and primary clinical Olbservations on the stimulativeeffects of low-frepuency pulse ultrasonic waves(LFUW)on fracture healing are reported in the paper. Radiological observations showed that the neoformed callus at the experimental side appeared more and earlier than that at the control side ; histological observations showed that the fracture repair at the experimental side was much more rapid than that at the control ibiomechanical measurements showed that the means of the greatest torque, rigidity and energy absorption at the experimental side were higher than those at the control by 42. 3H. 9%. The results of clinical observations showed that this method could rapidly eliminate swellings and pains, speed up callus formation and shorten clinical healing period. All of the above indicates that LFUW has many advantages , such as strong penetrativity, no thermal or adverse effects produced ,short therapeutic time, easy and simple operation , wide indications . including fresh or old fracture , wound or infection , cases using different fixating methods, and so on. It has reliable therapeutic results and offers a new approach to fracture treatment.
