Traditional Chinese medicine standards for demand of industry: Development status and construction considerations

In modern society, science and technology are developing vigorously. At the same time, the necessity and importance of standard construction in all walks of life are clearly reflected. The construction of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) standards is the key driving force to facilitate the development of TCM and promote TCM better serve human health. The construction of TCM standards has achieved abundant progress with the support of national policies and the focus of more researchers. Keeping up with the pace of standard reform and facing the demands of the industry, this paper attempts to summarize the general situation of the research and formulation of traditional Chinese medicine industry standard, to explain the opportunities, challenges, and shortcomings of standard construction in the new period, which can provide reference for the high-quality development of TCM standard leading industry.
