Abstract: | The role of the thymus in the disease of the NZB still remains to be clearly defined. Upon the basis of Coombs' positive reactions occurring in normal strains of mice following the implantation of thymus-containing diffusion chambers, previous workers suggested the primary role of a subcellular thymus causal factor in the disease of the NZB. We have been unable to confirm these findings in neonatally and adult thymectomized or intact mice of two other strains in spite of being implanted with NZB thymus-containing chambers. |
