Abstract:Objective To study the clinicopathologic characteristic and differential diagnosis of cervical polyoid lesions. Methods The 4239 cases with cervical polyoid lesions were taken histopathology analysis and classification at the light microscopic level, and some of them were studied by special stain and immunohistochemistry. Results Most of them were cervical polyp(97.6%).According to histopathological classification, they can be divided into fibro-granulation tissue(36.9%),adenomoid type(24.0%), common type(20.0%),hemangiomoid type(8.6%),mixture type(4.1%),cyst type(2.4%),hyperlasia of lymphoid tissue(2.4%), pseudodecidua type(1.4%),micoadenomoid type(0.3%).Small part of them was real tumor(2.4%) ,most of which was mailgnant tumor(61.6%). Conclusions Cervical polyps is a benign tumorlike lesions with histopatholgical polymormhisms. It is suggested that pathologists shoud pay attention to differentiate polyp-like tumor with cervical polypoid lesions. It is more important to emphasize some type of cervical polypoid lesions with latent malignity.
Keywords:Cervical polyp  Squamous cell carcinoma  Adenoma  Pathology
