Abstract: | Left displaced abomasum (LDA) is one of the major metabolic diseases in dairy cattle resulting in major economic loss within the dairy industry. The ability to predict the occurrence of LDA, especially in the early weeks of post-parturition is crucial. In the present study, 14 biochemical parameters in cows with LDA before and after parturition were compared to those of healthy control cows using the logistic regression statistical model. Significant changes (p?0.05) in six parameters, including beta-hydroxy butyrate, non-esterified fatty acids, aspartate aminotransferase, calcium, sodium and potassium, were detected between the groups and were included in the prediction model. |
