THE BACTERICIDAL EFFECT OF FUMIGANT “ACIDOCHLOR” IN FIELD TRIALS |

| Abstract: | The properties and the bactericidal effect of fumigant acidochlor in the laboratory have been reported previously.In the field trials, the spores of Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus albus were used as testing organisms. Under the conditions of 16～22℃ and 70～90% RH, more than 99.9% of Staphylococcus alhus exposed to 1.5 g/m~3 of acidochlor for 1 hr could be killed,while the dosages giving the same killing rate for spores were as follows :Room 13g/m~3 10g/m~3 (at 23～25℃)Ambulance 13g/m~3Ward 12g/m~3 9g/m~3 (exposed far 90 minutes)Cellar 11g/m~3Acidochlor is more effective than paraformaldehyde in fumigation disinfection. In the field trial, acidochlor did not produce any flame, so it is safer than other fumigant (e.g.paraform-chloroisocyanurate mixture) in use. |
