Retroperitoneal rupture of the duodenum due to blunt trauma

The subject is reviewed and a further case of retroperitoneal rupture of the second part of the duodenum due to blunt abdominal trauma in a child is reported. The equivocal initial clinical signs and characteristic X-rays are described.
