Abstract:A case of tenosynovitis of the middle finger was inadequately treated for more than 2 years, because the diagnosis of infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis was missed. The ultimate diagnosis, the surgical and medical treatment, and the result are discussed. As infections caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis are becoming more common in the Western World, their presence should be considered in every case of persistent tenosynovitis of the fingers.
