Clinical Value of Breast Lesions Core Needle Biopsy Guided by Ultrasound

Objective：To evaluate the role of ultrasound-guided core-needle biopsy（CNB）of breast lesions.Methods：Data were collected retrospectively from 60 ultrasound-guided CNB that were followed by operation.The histological findings obtained at ultrasound-guided CNB and operation were identified for each category and consistency test was done.Results：The sixty lesions,ultrasound-guided CNB identified invasive breast carcinoma in thirty-six,cephaloma in two,suspicious malignancy in three,atypical hyperplasia in four,phyllodes turnout in one,benign in forteen.Histopathologic examination results at ultrasound-guided CNB were confirmed at operation for 97%,generating a Kappa value of 0.921（P0.01）.Conclusion： Ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy is a safe and reliable diagnostic method,which play an important role in early diagnosis and rational therapy of breast carcinoma.
