Abstract: | By quenching polymerization with tritium-labelled methanol the total number of the metal-polymer bonds in the polymerization of ethylene and propylene by Ziegler-Natta catalysts was determined. Using the propagation rate constants determined by quenching polymerization with 14CO the rate constants of chain transfer with AlEt3 and Al(i-Bu)3 and the activation energy of chain transfer with AlEt3 were calculated. |
