| 摘 要： | In traditional Chinese medicine, there are quite a number of terms, phrases and expressions used to describe pathogenesis of diseases. The English word pathogenesis is frequently used to translate the Chinese concept of 病机 which literally means the mechanism of a disease. Such a translation, though still under debate, has been generally accepted by more and more translators.
