Motherwort injection combined with oxytocin in the prevention of pre-and post-operative hemorrhage in cesarean section: A clinical observation

Objective To observe and evaluate the clinical effect of motherwort injection in the prevention of pre-and post-operative hemorrhage in cesarean section.Methods 200 cesarean cases were randomly divided into two groups,each group of 100 people.The oxytocin group was treated only with oxytocin,and the other group was treated with motherwort combined with oxytocin.The intra-and post-operative bleeding and uterine involution of the two groups were observed respectively.Results The combined administered group had remarkably smaller amount of intra-operative bleeding than the oxytocin group,and had obviously less post-operative vaginal bleeding（P0.05）.The uterine involution resulted obviously better than that in the oxytocin group（P0.05）.Differences between the two groups were significant.Conclusion Motherwort can stimulate uterine contraction with durable effect and promote the uterine involution.When administered with oxytocin in cesarean section,motherwort can effectively prevent intra-and post-operative bleeding.
