Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of target-controlled anesthesia on the cellular immune function of patients receiving radical resection for rectal cancer. Method Sixty-eight patients had radical resection for rectal can-cer from August 2012 to October 2014, and were divided into target-controlled anesthesia group (34 cases) and con-trol group (34 cases), and either target-controlled anesthesia or general anesthesia was applied in radical resection for both group, respectively. Result In the post-anesthesia observation, the target-controlled anesthesia group had TNF-α of (87000.00 ± 180.00) μg/L, IL-6 of (125.00 ± 24.00) ng/L, which were significantly higher than that of control group [TNF-α (73000.00 ± 160.00) μg/L, IL-6 (105.00 ± 23.00) ng/L (all P< 0.05)]. The decrease of CD3+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, and CD8+ T cells in target-controlled anesthesia group were (52.98 ± 5.74)%, (32.85 ± 4.27)%, (22.52 ± 4.20)%, respectively, and were significantly lower than those of the control group, which were (58.14 ± 5.65)%, (36.86±4.36)%, and (24.68±4.69)% in correspondence (all P< 0.05). Conclusion Compared with general anesthesia, target-controlled anesthesia significantly inhibits the cellular immune function in patients.
Keywords:target-controlled anesthesia  radical resection for rectal carcinoma  immune function
