Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of early enteral nutrition(EN)support in the treatm ent of acute exacerbation of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods A total of 90 patients with acute exacerbation of severe COPD in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were collected and randomly divided into control group and observation group,with 45 cases in each group.The control group was given parenteral nutrition(PN)continuous EN mode,and the observation group was given early continuous EN mode.The respiratory function,blood ion and vitamin levels of the two groups were compared.Results There were significant differences in pH,PaO2,PaCO2,SaO,FVC,FEV1and FEV1/FVC between the two groups(P<0.05).The differences of K,Na,Cl,CA,P and Mg in peripheral blood between the two groups were significant(P<0.05).Moreover,the differences of VitA,VitB,VitC,VitD and VitE were also significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Early application of EN in the treatment of acute exacerbation of severe COPD can effectively improve the nutritional status of patients and promote the recovery of respiratory function,which is worthy of clinical application.
