Clinical effect of modified Taohong Siwu decoction on prevention of deep venous thrombosis of lower limbs after PFN-A for intertrochanteric fracture of femur

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of modified Taohong Siwu decoction on prevention of deep venous thrombosis of lower limbs after proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFN-A)for intertrochanteric fracture of femur.Methods A total of 50 patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur treated by PFN-A were divided into observation group(25 cases,Taohong Siwu decoction+low molecular weight heparin)and control group(25 cases,low molecular weight heparin)by the way of postoperative medication.The clinical effects of the two groups were compared.Results At 7 and 14 d after operation,PT and APTT in the observation group were longer than those in the control group,FIB,D-dimer levels and VAS score were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 14 d after operation,Hb level,PCV and AI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The thrombosis rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Modified Taohong Siwu decoction can effectively improve the hypercoagulable state of blood,relieve pain and reduce the incidence of deep venous thrombosis of lower limbs in patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur after PFN-A.
