Study on the effect of conjoint fascial sheath suspension surgery in the treatment of severe blepharoptosis in children

Objective To explore the clinical effect of conjoint fascial sheath(CFS)suspension in the treatment of severe blepharoptosis in children.Methods A total of 98 children with severe blepharoptosis admitted to our hospital from October 2017 to March 2019 were selected and divided into study group and conventional group according to different treatment plans,with 49 cases in each group.The study group was treated with CFS suspension,and the conventional group was treated with levator palpebrae shortening.The treatment effect,complication rate,the satisfaction degree of the children’s family with the correction effect,scar score 3 months after surgery,upper eyelid lift,and marginal reflex distance 1(MRD1)were compared between the two groups.The postoperative follow-up was 3 months,and the recurrence of the two groups was statistically compared.Results:The excellent and good rate of treatment in the study group(95.92%)was higher than that in the conventional group(79.59%)(P<0.05).The scar score of the study group was lower than that of the conventional group at 3 months after surgery,and the upper eyelid lift and MRD1 were higher than that of the conventional group(P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the study group(4.08%)was compared with that in the conventional group(10.20%),and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The satisfaction degree of the family members of the children in the study group(93.88%)was higher than that of the conventional group(75.51%)(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of the study group(2.08%)was compared with that of the conventional group(4.35%),and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with the levator palpebrae shortening,the use of CFS suspension to treat severe blepharoptosis in children can significantly improve the treatment effect and further reduce the degree of scars,and improve the satisfaction degree of the children’s family members with the correction,and the complication rate and recurrence rate are low,and it is more suitable for the treatment of severe blepharoptosis in children.
