Clinical observation of botulinum toxin A combined with intense pulsed light in the treatment of acne

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of the combination therapy of botulinum toxin A with intense pulsed light(IPL)in patients with acne.Methods A Total of 83 patients with acne were enrolled and randomly divided into 3 groups.in treatment group,30 patients were treated by of botulinum toxin A with IPL;in control group 1,27 patients were treated by of botulinum toxin A;in control group 2,26 patients were treated by of IPL.The efficacy was assessed at the 12 th weekend.Results After 12 weeks treatment,the effective rate of combined group was 80%,the control group 1 was 59.26%,the control group 2 was 50%.The effective rate in treatment group was higher than control group 1 and control group 2(p<0.05).There was no significant difference between control group 1 and control group 2(P>0.05).Course of treatment,the three groups had no significant adverse reactions.Conclusion The combination therapy of botulinum toxin A combined with IPL in the treatment of acne significant effect,fewer adverse reactions.
