Influences of nursing intervention based on planned behavior theory on gastrointestinal function and health behavior of elderly patients after orthopedic surgery

Objective To explore the influences of nursing intervention based on planned behavior theory on gastrointestinal function and health behavior of elderly patients after orthopedic surgery.Methods A total of 76 elderly orthopedic surgery patients admitted in our hospital were randomly divided into control group(routine nursing intervention)and observation group(added nursing intervention based on planned behavior theory on the basis of routine nursing),with 38 cases in each group.The recovery time of gastrointestinal function,health behavior and psychological stress response index of the two groups were compared.Results The recovery time of bowel sounds,the first exhaust time and the first defecation time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of each dimension of HPLP-Ⅱincreased and HAMA and HAMD scores decreased in the two groups,and those in the observation group were better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention based on planned behavior theory applied in elderly patients with orthopedic surgery can promote the rapid recovery of gastrointestinal function,improve healthy behavior,and effectively reduce the psychological stress reaction of patients.
