Effects of nursing intervention based on IMB model on complications and quality of life of patients with invasive bladder cancer undergoing total cystectomy and urinary diversion with abdominal stoma

Objective To explore the effects of nursing intervention based on information motivation behavior(IMB)model on the complications and quality of life of patients with invasive bladder cancer undergoing total cystectomy and urinary diversion with abdominal stoma.Methods A total of 100 patients with invasive bladder cancer who underwent total cystectomy and urinary diversion with abdominal stoma in our hospital from June 2017 to June 2019 were selected as the research objects,and the patients were divided into control group and study group by random lottery,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing intervention,and the study group was given nursing intervention based on IMB model on the basis of the control group.The stoma self-care ability,complications and quality of life scores between the two groups were compared.Results After intervention,the scores of stoma cognition,stoma device disassembly,skin care around stoma,urine bag emptying and chassis pruning in the two groups were higher than those before intervention,and those in the study group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of functional areas and specific items in the two groups were higher than those before intervention,and the scores of symptom areas in the two groups were lower than those before intervention,and those in the study group were better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention based on IMB model can improve the stoma self-care ability reduce postoperative complications and improve the quality of life of patients with invasive bladder cancer undergoing total cystectomy and urinary diversion with abdominal stoma.
