Effect of volunteer service from ward-mates on the psychological stress,hope level and living quality of patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer

Objective To discuss the eff ect of volunteer service from ward-mates on the psychological stress,hope level and living quality of patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer.Methods To select 102 cases of patients who underwent modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer in the hospital from January to December 2019 as the study objects,and the patients were divided into a control group and an observation group according to the matching principle of age,tumor diameter,tumor stage and onset location,with 51 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing care,and the observation group was given volunteer service from ward-mates on the basis of the control group to record and compare the psychological stress,hope level and quality of life scores of the two groups of patients before and after intervention.Results After the intervention,the scores of SAS and SDS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the overall scores of positive attitude,positive action,intimate relationship and hope were higher than those of the control group,the scores of psychological,physical,environmental and social relations were all higher than those of the control group,and the diff erences between the groups were statistically signifi cant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of volunteer service from ward-mates can signifi cantly improve the psychological stress level of patients undergoing modifi ed radical mastectomy,and improve the level of hope and living quality of patients.
