Linearizing the thermistory: a reminder that the thermistor can be tamed
Authors:Bloor B C  Lee A S
Abstract:The thermistor, a preferred temperature transducer, has a non-linear resistance vs. temperature characteristic. However, the non-linear characteristic of the Wheatstone bridge circuit in which thermistors are usually used can compensate for this, so that, over a selected range, quite accurate linear voltage outputs may be obtained. A selected set of bridge resistor and excitation voltage values are presented together with accuracy data. Comments concerning the application of these circuits include safety considerations.
