| Abstract: | Decoquinate was synthesized from 4-nitrocatechol by successive alkylations of the hydroxyl groups, reduction and subsequent reaction with diethyl ethoxymethylenemalonate and then cyclization with an overall yield of 6 % and a purity of 94.4 %. |
