| Abstract: | Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) at loci from the short arm of chromosome 8 has been shown to occur in several types of carcinomas. The consensus deletion region has been recently mapped at 8p21-p22, distal to D8S283 and NEFL loci, and proximal to LPL and D8S265 loci. We report LOH at D8S133, a marker located in this consensus region, in a panel of breast tumor samples. LOH at this locus was observed in about 20% of the tumors. |
