Thrombosis,thromboembolism,and hemorrhage associated with anticoagulation in mechanical cardiac valve prosthesis are still the most common and severe complication after replacement for natural valve. They are also the main cause of death in post operative period. The hemodynamic characteristics of the mechanical cardiac valve prosthesis, and its material, condition of the patients, and personal choice of the optimal anticoagulation intensity postoperation are involved in the development of these complications. Therefore, maintaining of optimal anticoagulation intensity for individual with a specific type of valve prosthesis is the most important measure in preventing of valve prosthesis related complications.
