Abstract:This paper describes a dimensional analysis interface (DAI) which measures dimensions of televised images. The DAI is constructed of high-speed logic modules and operates in conjunction with a small computer. Measurements are made on the video signal using a variable-threshold trigger circuit. “Window” and feedback circuits allow operator selection of the region to be measured. The system was developed to measure human left ventricular dimensions from cineangiograms and programs permit the calculation of area and volume of the ventricle. It may be used for numerical analysis of any pictorial information presented in television format.
