| Abstract: | This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a 3-day course of artesunate (4 mg/kg/day) for asymptomatic Plasmodium malariae infections. The parasitological cure rates on days 7 and 56 in the group treated with artesunate were 100% and 83%, respectively, compared with no cure in the placebo group (P < 0.0001). |
