Abstract: | Summary The isolation and maintenance in culture of bovine mammary gland endothelial cells is described. The uptake of acetylated low density lipoprotein labeled with 1,1'-dioctadecyl-3,3,3',3'-tetramethylindocarbocyanine perchlorate was used to purify the endothelial cells by fluorescence-activated cell sorting. The morphology of the purified cells is similar to that of endothelial cells from other species. The isolation of bovine mammary endothelial cells is potentially significant to study the role of the endothelium during inflammatory responses. |
