| Abstract: | A novel dimeric dihydrochalcone, verbenachalcone (1), was isolated from the aerial parts of Verbena littoralis. Its structure was elucidated, on the basis of spectral data interpretation, as 4,2',4',2' ",4' "-pentahydroxy-3' '-methoxy-3-O-4' '-tetrahydrobichalcone. This compound caused a significant enhancement of nerve growth factor-mediated neurite outgrowth from PC12D cells. |
