| Abstract: | The paper sums up recent development of self-microemulsifying drug delivery systems (SMEDDS) and reviews the mechanism,physicochemical characterization,formulation,influence and evaluation of the system in details. The progress of some special formulations is introduced. SMEDDS preparations can improve the absorption and bioavailability and be applied widely in pharmacy in the near future. |
