Abstract: | Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of the relative band power (RBP) of EEG in acute cerebral infarction. Methods:EEG was performed in 38 patients with acute cerebral infarction of internal carotid artery system(Infarction group including 20 cases of focal cerebral infarction and 18 cases of large area cerebral infarction) and the control group of 30 cases was involved. The changes of bilateral RBP were analyzed comparatively, in the infarct brain regions and occipital brain areas RBP in the acute cevebral infaction of internal carotid artery system, focal cerebral infarction and large area cerebral infarc- tion were compared with that in the control group. Results: In comparison of infarction regions with con- tralateral regions:the RBP of infarction group showed bilateral asymmetry. The RBP of ~ waves on the infard side were significantly higher than that on the normal side and the RBPs of a,13 waves decreased significantly; In the focal group~the 0 waves of the infarct side were significantly higher than that on the normal side, while there was no significant statistical difference in the large area group. The 0,~3 waves of the infarct brain area in the two infarction groups increased significantly compared wtih the control group while the RBPs of a,~ waves decreased significantly. The changes of relative band power(RBP)in the oc- cipitalia:infarction the of showed the two groups asymmetry on all the wave-band RBPs in the bilateral occipitalia. The RBP of 8,0 waves on the infarction side were significantly higher than that on the normal |
