| Abstract: | A case of acute fatty liver of pregnancy (obstetric acute yellow atrophy or acute fatty metamorphosis of the liver) is reported in which cesarean section was made and both mother and child survived. The authors suggest that the prognosis was improved by rapid termination of pregnancy. The course of the disease, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis are discussed. |
