The formation, rise and fall, and reconstruction of Chinese medicine in Japan can instruct us from many ways. Development comes much from government support. Both theories and clinical practice should be stressed and the two should be closely combined with each other. Struggle between different schools should be relieved and harmonious development should be encouraged for creation work. Respecting the ancient and keeping up with the times should be emphasized together. Chinese medicine will get further developed by means of its own advantages.
