| Abstract: | In order to detect the role of gastric car-cinocmbryonic antigen (CEA) in patients withgastric cancer and their precanoerous conditions,measurements of CEA in gastric juice and gastricmucosa were performed in 208 patients, includ-ing chronic superficial gastritis (CSG, 48 cases),chronic atrophic gastritis (58 cases), duodenalulcer (DU, 29 cases), gastric ulcer (GU, 9 cases),combined ulcer (CU, 9 cascs), gastric canccr(GC, 27 cascs), intostinal metaplasia a'uuo.mpany-ing various condition.s (IM, 24 cases) and gr.aidcII dysplasiia (4 casc.s). Both the gastric juice andmucosal tissue were obtained by endoscopy orfrom resected specimens. CEA value was mea-sured by enzyme-immunoassay with the samplesprctrcated accordingly. |
