The adsorptive properties of the tunica vaginalis propria of the testis

Summary Absorptive properties of the testicular tunica vaginalis propria are distinctly manifested only in case of true and colloidal solutions. Morphological experiments have clearly demonstrated that crystalloids are absorbed both by blood and lymphatic vessels of this serous membrane, while colloids only by its lymphatic vessels. In both cases the outstanding role is that of the vascular bed of the parietal sheath. The ability of the tunica vaginalis propria to resorb suspensions is insignificant or even nil.Presented by Prof. V. N. Chernigovsky, Active Member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences
