Abstract: | Objective: To investigate the effect of bcr-abl fusiongene on CML cell apoptosis. Methods: Apoptosis of exvivo cultured K562 cells were observed after exposure tosynthetic 18 mer antisense oligodeoxynucleotide complementary to the bcr-abl junction (b3a2). Results: Apoptosisof K562 cells was significantly increased associated withindibition of bcr-abl expression. Conclusion: bcr-ablfusion gene formation due to chromosome translocationmay be the major mechanism of CML via inhibition ofapoptosis. |
