| 摘 要： | 1 Rationale for CAM use in pediatrics The definition of complementary and alternative medicine （CAM） is generally agreed to be a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not presently considered to be part of conventional medicine. This definition clearly acknowledges that what is considered CAM depends on time and space： CAM in one country may not be CAM in another, and this definition may change over time. CAM and integrative medicine （IM） can also be differentiated; CAM is when patients use CAM instead of, or beside conventional medicine, whereas IM is when health care providers use CAM in conjunction with complementary medicine. The public health ramifications of widespread use of complementary and alternative medicine （CAM） cannot be overstated.
